As the Groom, make sure you are doing your job right!

Weddings (and wedding planning) are frequently associated with brides and their “party”. And yet, grooms should be seen just as important as the brides. It does take two for a wedding and this is a day to celebrate both of you, as well as the romantic love story that has brought you to this moment.

How to do your job right as the groom? Here are some tips you should keep in mind.

·         Be there for her. She has been dreaming of this ever since she was a little girl – and you were part of the picture too, as her Knight on the White Horse. Be there throughout the wedding planning process and support her in her decision making. Be there to offer your shoulder when times get rough and be there to be happy with her when you finally find the perfect venue. Just be there.

·         Communicate. The key to long-lasting and happy relationships is good communication. Talk to her about the wedding details you would like to stick to, talk to her about the budget and talk to her about the things you might not agree on. Sometimes, it may not be the most comfortable thing to do – but nevertheless, it can truly help you create a wedding that’s about both of you (which is something she definitely wants).

·         Take the tasks very seriously. To help her plan the Big Day, offer your help in everything – regardless of whether that’s choosing the tuxedoes for your groomsmen or going to the taste test with her and help her choose the ideal design for the wedding cake. Take these tasks very, very seriously and be involved in the decision-making process!
