Create a gorgeous LGBT wedding!

Love comes in many shapes and colors – but it is always candid, sweet and amazing. Here, at Avalon Music, we believe true love can push the boundaries society has built over time – and we believe everyone deserves to have a wedding that truly reflects their love story and their unique personality.

How to plan an LGBT wedding everyone will love? We have some tips for you – so read on and find out more.

·         The most important thing to remember is that this is your wedding and that you are the ones who should be happy. Therefore, if any of the traditional wedding rules make you feel uncomfortable in any way, you can simply change them to something that represents you.

·         For instance, instead of assigning seats based on “sides”, you could allow your dearest friends and family members to mingle in the front row (and you can even use a cute sign to encourage this among your guests – such as “Pick a seat, not a side”, for example).

·         Furthermore, you can also walk down the aisle in whatever order you want. Some brides choose to both walk down the aisle (with their fathers, alone or even hand in hand). Other same-sex couples choose to enter the ceremony with the officiant, and other couples prefer to do things the more traditional way, with one of them entering with the officiant, while the other one walks down the aisle with a parent or a close family member or friend. You make the rules, so don’t be afraid to get creative!

·         Last, but not least, the ceremony structure (and the guests invited) are generally similar to those of a non-LGNT wedding. Having sand ceremonies or candle ceremonies is also quite popular with couples of all kinds, since these rituals can add a romantic and meaningful touch to a wedding.

Avalon Music was honored to be the chosen vendor for Alex and Adam's wedding in February at Brenner's. The trio was a Harp, Violin and Cello and we performed custom selections for the grooms. As huge supporters of the LGBT community, we are genuinely thrilled that this is happening in Texas! Adam is a very prominent hotel sales and event manager – so he could have chosen any ensemble in Houston. He chose to go with the best, Avalon Music!
